Evaluation Summary

The Tantus brand is synonymous for quality and safety. Its debut wand vibrator the Tantus Rumble is no exception, scoring highly in many key aspects: quality materials, superb engineering, and critically, its signature puck-shaped head saw many versatile uses aside from clitoral stimulation. But because it tries to fulfill a multitude of uses, it appears to be a jack-of-all-trades, master of none.

Vibrations wise, the general concensus is that it is rumbly on the lowest speed and becomes buzzy at higher speeds. A mid-range powered wand, it appealed to women who preferred gentler vibrations.

Rating

Tantus Rumble has a PleasureScore™ of 60/100, placing it #126 on the PleasureScore™ 2022 Vibrator Ranking Chart.

11 Reasons to Buy

  • Tantus is a forerunner in quality, body-safe products. Owners lauded the Rumble for its build quality and top-of-the-line body-safe silicone. The head can be removed for cleaning and can be boiled for sanitizing or immersed in 10% bleach solution. It is dishwasher safe too.

  • As there are no crevices on the toy, cleaning is relatively easy.

  • It is sleek looking; purchasers admired its sleek grey/metallic blue appearance, which some commended for being "gender-neutral."

  • A considerable proportion of owners praised its intuitive controls and thoughtfully placed buttons.

  • Almost unanimously, owners lauded its light weight. It weighs only 6.6 ounces (188 grams) — about that of an iPhone 7 Plus. Together with an ergonomic handle, they said that it is easy and comfortable to grip and causes no hand fatigue. A delighted owner added, "It is light enough to hold against a clit for orgasmic fun during penis-in-vagina sex."

  • It features four vibration patterns (aside from the 3 steady speed modes) and this inclusion commonly received praises. An expert said, "I would say the patterns must have been actually thought out and made to be pleasing, rather than just thrown in as an after thought (the way I feel with a lot of vibrators)."

  • The Rumble is designed for versatile—not solely clitoral—use, "accessible to a diverse range of body types as well as abilities." Indeed, purchasers revealed some of their favorite, interesting uses: on the nipples, for buzzing the base of an anal plug that’s firmly in place, for grinding against, for stimulating her partner's perineum while giving him a blowjob, for stimulating his balls, and even for one, a foot massage.

  • Further adding to its versatility, the head is interchangeable with other attachments. Three attachments are available for separate purchase: The Rumble Dorado Head which seemingly simulates a tongue, the Rumble Convertible Head for use with suction cup compatible toys, and the Rumble Spoon Head for targeted G-Spot/P-Spot stimulation.

  • Purchasers also appreciated that the toy is very quiet. A satisfied owner elaborated, "I can barely hear it when I have it on even on the highest setting which is nice and it becomes totally silent under the covers."

  • It is rechargeable via Micro-USB, which is convenient as any generic cable or plug (such as a smart phone charging plug, car charger, portable power bank) can be used.

  • It lasts an impressive 4+ hours on a single charge.

11 Reasons Not to Buy

  • Commonly, reviewers found its flat and broad head unfitting for clitoral/vulva stimulation. According to them, it was too broad and did not sit well against their vulva; one found herself having to awkwardly turn the head sideways.

  • Users wrote that the flatness and broadness of its head made it difficult, "not worth the effort" to use in tandem with a dildo.

  • According to a couple, its broad, boxy head also made it unwieldy for intercourse play (other than in missionary position).

  • More than a quarter of women complained that its vibrations were not strong enough. As the Tantus Rumble is designed with a "mid-range" power, it may not be suitable for power lovers.

  • The quality of its vibrations had been rather commonly criticized upon; owners were disappointed that the vibrations became buzzier on higher speeds. An expert lamented, "I think naming this toy the ‘Rumble’ and suggesting its vibrations are deep and powerful might be a bit of a stretch too far."

  • On higher speeds, vibrations can be felt at the handle which caused some annoyance.

  • There were mixed feedback with regards to how well it holds its charge. While there was a user who found the charge lasts "forever" when not in use, another lamented that the charge depletes rather quickly.

  • The drawback of being lightweight is that one needs to exert more force to apply more pressure. At least one complained of arm fatigue.

  • It is not waterproof and cannot be submerged in water, though it is splash proof.

  • There is no travel-lock function.

  • Does not come with a storage bag.
