Evaluation Summary

Shibari Halo is a powerful cordless wand that provides deep, penetrating vibrations that are only beat by the industries very best like the Magic Wand Original. The aesthetic might be a bit garish for some, but it’s intelligently built so that vibrations aren’t dampened, even under a lot of pressure. Sadly, outside of its stellar vibrations and complementary build, it lacks in all other areas. Over a quarter of users complained about faults after a short time, making this device hard to recommend and a bit of a gamble.

Rating

Shibari Halo has a PleasureScore™ of 68/100, placing it #108 on the PleasureScore™ 2022 Vibrator Ranking Chart.

10 Reasons to Buy

  • A substantial proportion of users were satisfied with the vibration strength of the Shibari Halo, which often led to fast, deep and intense orgasms. They concurred that it is powerful for its package while also recognizing that it is not as strong as wall powered wands such as the Magic Wand Original.

  • An expert was pleased to discover that the vibrations do not seem to dampen even when hard pressure is applied against her vulva/clitoris.

  • It is rechargeable and comes with a USB cord and wall adaptor.

  • The top half of the wand, including its head, is non-porous and made of FDA-approved body-safe silicone.

  • Having a big, long handle, the Shibari Halo is also useful as a back or body massager.

  • Several women lauded its slightly flexible neck which proved helpful when angling the toy in different positions.

  • It is waterproof and can be used in the shower or bath.

  • More than one in ten users commended its smooth, "silky" textured head. They said it felt comfortable on their skin.

  • They also lauded its appearance as "sleek," "cute" and "nicely designed."

  • At least a purchaser appreciated the discreet presentation of the packaging. She wrote, "The box is discreet in a sense that it does NOT scream sex toy, the box simply states that the Halo is a massager."

15 Reasons Not to Buy

  • Close to a quarter of Shibari Halo Wand owners encountered product failures and malfunction within a year or less, suggesting durability issues. Common issues include charger failures and inexplicable vibration failures.

  • Users partial to pinpoint stimulation may not like its broad head.

  • Users say that it is loud, though some recognized that it is relatively quiet in comparison to similar full sized wands.

  • Close to 10% of owners pointed out that the battery charge did not last long; in two separate cases, the vibrations diminished and the device would not hold a charge within a few months and a year.

  • There are no indicator lights to tell you when the battery is running flat.

  • Users commonly complained about its buttons being so sensitive that it caused inadvertent power-ons and offs. This is further compounded by the fact that they are located right where the toy would be held.

  • It is not travel-friendly due to the lack of travel-lock function. Furthermore, its sensitive power button is easily activated by accident while in a bag or storage.

  • It does not come with a storage pouch.

  • While there were users who wrote about the toy being lightweight, more others found it heavy and unwieldy.

  • There are limited head attachment options for the Shibari Halo; only three to be exact. It is not compatible with most other third-party attachments.

  • To purchasers' disappointment, it has only 2 speeds. They preferred a wider range of speeds for gradual build-ups.

  • Two women separately discovered that while the vibrations are powerful, the quality of such are buzzy, not deep, "not relaxing or effective in the same way that a stronger deeper vibration is." Another elaborated that the vibrations are "rumbly yet somehow a bit surface-level too, and sometimes that just isn’t the right kind of vibration."

  • A minority who expected its strength to be similar to other corded wands were disappointed.

  • While some recognized its affordable price point, others who were disappointed with its strength found otherwise. One added, "I will point out that the cost of the Halo + one attachment is about the same as the cost of the Hitachi/Vibratex Magic Wand, so...it's not exactly cheap...overpriced."

  • It cannot be used while charging.
